Just a quick note today.
At the Mollie Tibbetts press conference yesterday, one of the questions by the swarming national media to the investigator was what is going to happen to the money that has been donated to Crimestoppers. The organization has collected a record amount, over $400,000.
Perhaps the person who gave the surveillance video to police to help them track down the suspect’s vehicle would be a possibility to receive the award. However, I have another idea.
Perhaps we could use the money to create a memorial for all those missing children and persons that happen throughout the year. It can be in Brooklyn, IA — call it the Tibbetts Memorial or whatever you want to but it can honor Mollie and others that have gone missing. It is estimated that around 140,000 children go missing each year. Perhaps we need something to honor those kids.
Just a thought.
My other thoughts are with the friends and family of Mollie Tibbetts on this day after.
